Metal Gear Solid is widely regarded as one of the best video games ever made. In my opinion it is the best video game ever made.

There are many reasons behind my thoughts. From the superb story telling by Hideo Kojima and Fukushima to the superb game art by Yoji Shinkawa. All underpinned by a hauntingly captivating soundtrack by the Konami sound team.
However there is another reason behind my belief that Metal Gear Solid 1 is the greatest video game ever made. A reason that goes beyond the superb gameplay, artwork and soundscape.
